Burns’ Family Supermarkets Raise 10K for Red Cross

Nine local Fresh Grocer and ShopRite supermarkets, owned and operated by the Burns family, raised $10,000 for the American Red Cross during their seventh annual fundraiser held in March in honor of National Red Cross Month. The month-long fundraiser was supported by both corporate and customer donations. All proceeds will help the Red Cross deliver on its mission of preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies.

The Fresh Grocer of Progress Plaza and Temple Men’s Basketball partnered up in the fight against hunger, delivering 278 cases of food to Philabundance. The Fresh Grocer donated one case of food for every 3-pointer made by the basketball team during the ’16-’17 season.
